Residents plagued by a strange moaning sound find relief after council investigates and resolves the issue.
The residents suspected a radio mast, the Hemdean transmitter mast seemed likely. Council officers visited the site and confirmed the noise was coming from there.

One by one, they switched equipment off. This helped isolate the sound source, but it took some effort to find out what was happening. Turns out, two small fans caused it.
The fans were high up on the mast, and they vibrated, like a giant tuning fork. That is why the noise traveled so far. Now, they have replaced the noisy fans.
