Devizes Town Council wanted new parking rules last summer. They asked the Local Highways group to help.

Wiltshire Council is now asking for opinions. They want to make the double yellow lines longer. These lines are at the Victoria Road intersection. Cars often park there along that road. This causes traffic jams.

It also reduces space near Quakers Walk Bridge. The bridge goes over the Kennet and Avon Canal. Town council officers said things were getting worse. They mentioned this in a report last June.

Wiltshire Council has plans for “no waiting” restrictions. They affect the east side of the road. These will stretch 72 meters north. Double yellow lines will also go on the west side.

People could park for two hours on the west side. This area would be about 25 meters long. The changes aim to reduce traffic. The town council and members requested the new rules.

They responded to citizen requests. Obstructed views and physical barriers are problems. They hope to improve the overall area.
