County Durham Court Sentences Eight Offenders in Recent Cases
Simon Wright is from Crook. He lives on Briar Gardens. He got a three-year driving ban after admitting he was drink driving. Police arrested Wright on July 5, 2024, on Buttermere Grove in Crook. His alcohol level was too high at 94 microgrammes in 100 millilitres.
The 32-year-old also lacked a license and insurance. He must abstain from alcohol for 120 days and attend 20 rehab days.
Shaun Short, 38, is from Darlington and lives on Lewes Road. He stole meat and dairy from the Co-Op on February 18, worth £150 in total. He admitted his crime and must pay an £80 fine, plus £85 for court costs.
Leannda Stevens, 35, is from Newton Aycliffe and lives on Fenhall Green. She assaulted three emergency workers after her May 6 arrest last year and missed a court bail appearance. She got a one-year community order and must attend 15 rehab activity days. Stevens must also pay compensation to the police officers.
