A couple is in a planning dispute after erecting a fence without permission, deemed damaging to Chilterns view.

Mr. S Smith wants to build new flats at 216 West Wycombe Road, behind an existing house. The plan includes five flats on three stories, each with two bedrooms.
Access comes from Templeside Gardens, leading to five parking spaces. Smith said this adds needed housing, as the location is convenient and sustainable. Each flat has private outdoor space, meets national size standards, and gets parking plus bike storage. He says the design fits the area.
Paul and Mrs. Carter built a 1.8m wooden fence at Old School Cottage in Medmenham. They also added hard ground and gates, asking for permission after building it. The council said no, stating the fence ruins the Chilterns view.
The parish council noticed a building control issue, suggesting the fence makes selling the annexe easier. The Carters hired planning consultants, who will discuss the evident breaches with authorities.
National Grid wants to build a substation at Iver Sub Station on Slough Road. The project includes a 400kV facility and a new road from the A412, continuing to Six Acre Farm’s access. A bridge will cross the Alder Bourne River. The location is near the existing Iver substation, east of the M25 in Iver Heath, and has been used for grazing with existing power lines.
