Couple walks to Blackpool for their daughter’s first birthday. Raising money for Derian House, who supported them after her death.

The couple are walking from their Leyland home to Blackpool Central Pier Beach. Family and friends will join them during the walk as they raise money for Derian House. This hospice supported them after Ariya died.
Ariya Leigh Acornley was born February 15, 2024, but lived for only 17 hours after being born. Ariya spent six days in a special cold room at Derian House. This gave her parents more time with Ariya.
Natasha said Derian House did amazing things for them, and taking Ariya to Blackpool was the most meaningful. She stated that they had a beautiful and emotional time, which was perfect for their family.
About twenty people will join the parents on the walk, including Ariya’s brother Leighton and her sisters Skye and Anna. Additionally, Ariya’s nanny and other relatives will walk. They created a JustGiving page for donations to Derian House.
Catherine Randall, the chief nurse at Derian House, said they care for each family uniquely and that it is amazing they are raising awareness. It helps other families like theirs. It costs £6 million yearly to run the hospice.
The funds raised will help offer care to families at Derian House, located in Chorley, England. They care for over 400 ill children and their families from the North West.
