Riki and Lucy got married. They have been together for 26 years, and their wedding was very special. It took place in a hospital garden called the Butterfly Garden.

Riki is getting end-of-life care on ward G1. The wedding happened at West Suffolk Hospital, which sits in Bury St Edmunds. The hospital staff helped them celebrate.

The My Wish Charity also helped, feeling honored to create the space. It allowed Mr. and Mrs. Hardy to share their day. Lucy says Riki is a real fighter who battled cancer three times.

Lucy learned about the garden from staff and thought it felt perfect. Lucy has always loved butterflies. Family came from London and watched Lucy and Riki get married.

The couple moved last June to be closer to family, living in Bury St Edmunds now. Sadly, Riki got a diagnosis of incurable kidney cancer that spread to his lungs.

After that, Riki and Lucy decided to marry. The hospital shared a Facebook post, thanking everyone who helped. Lucy and Riki celebrated with drinks, cake, and music.

The hospital hopes Riki can go home soon to be with his family and wished them every happiness. Donations to the My Wish Charity made the garden, which is a peaceful place for all.
