Clifford made racist comments and acted aggressively towards his ex-partner before her murder, as revealed in court.

Clifford admitted to murdering Louise, Hannah, and Carol Hunt. He also admitted false imprisonment of Louise, and possessed a crossbow and a knife. They met on a dating app before dating.
Louise broke up with him in late June. She made a phone note after the split, which showed she did the right thing. It listed Clifford’s unacceptable words and actions.
The note mentioned his brother, Bradley Clifford. Bradley was in prison for murder after he killed a teen on a moped in 2017. Bradley received a life sentence with a minimum of 23 years.
Prosecutor Alison Morgan KC spoke about the note. Louise wrote about Clifford’s racist comments. She stated he disliked transgender people, and also wrote that he used belittling language.
Louise’s note mentioned his road rage incidents and family issues. She noted his view of violence, writing that he thought his dad and brother’s actions were funny.
Louise told friends about Clifford’s bad behavior. One friend shared that Louise said he had a nasty temper and acted aggressively in some incidents.
Louise’s family also saw Clifford as odd, and they worried about their relationship quality. Hannah Hunt found Clifford rude and arrogant, and wanted the relationship to end fast.
A friend’s wedding caused the final break-up. Clifford upset Louise at the event badly when he implied he slept with many people there.
A friend saw Clifford behave badly often, doing what he desired with zero care. He behaved rudely without any shame at all. Ms. Morgan said he made patronizing comments too, and minimized Louise’s ability to use an oven.
