Courtney Mulchrone found guilty of stabbing her ex-boyfriend with a carving knife following a toxic relationship.

Judge Jonathan Rose warned Mulchrone she may get a long prison sentence. The trial revealed the stabbing happened last year on May 5. She used a 20cm carving knife to stab the man.
The stabbing followed a night out in Leeds. She tried to make him jealous then by talking and dancing with other men. The pair had a toxic on-off romance lasting four months.
The ex-boyfriend took a taxi home with friends, leaving Mulchrone in Leeds that night. She called him many times while in a taxi. In one call, she threatened to kill him, stating, “You don’t know who you’re messing with.”
After the threats, the man went to see Mulchrone, who had threatened to harm herself beforehand. She had also damaged his car and called him to report the damage. He then went to see her at Dobrudden Caravan Park in Baildon where she lived in a caravan.
They argued, and she got a kitchen knife. A neighbor tried to calm things down, but Mulchrone stabbed her ex after he stated he would not reunite with her.
The emergency call recorded the attack’s aftermath. The victim moaned and cried in pain while a woman at the campsite tried to help.
Mulchrone said the man strangled her, but he denied this accusation at the scene. Police body cameras also recorded the scene as the ambulance rushed the victim to Leeds General Infirmary. He needed emergency surgery.
His liver had a laceration from a stab wound, and doctors took him to intensive care right away. His injury was critical and life-threatening, but eventually, he stabilized and survived.
Mulchrone now lives in Meadowfield, Burnhope, Durham. She was charged with intent to harm and knife possession, but she denied possessing the knife. A jury of six men and five women delivered the verdict; one juror’s dismissal reduced its size to 11. Judge Rose wants an update on the victim’s medical state.
