Hey, I saw some interesting info today. Crime on trains went way up last year. The British Transport Police logged over 80,000 crimes.

MailOnline did a study and made a map of UK train stations. The ranking shows the most dangerous stations. It included 2,580 stations.

They looked at foot traffic and crime rates to decide the danger levels. Maidenhead ranked highest, not Reading, even though crime has been rising in Reading.

Windsor & Eton station was ‘unranked,’ as the British Transport Police reported very few crimes there. Violent and sex crimes are at record highs, having doubled over the past decade.

Overall crime levels are up 55% in ten years. Here is a list of Berkshire’s most dangerous stations, which includes crime figures and foot traffic.

Maidenhead had 227 crimes, with a crime rate of 45.6 per million people, and almost five million people used the station. Additionally, Newbury had 56 crimes, resulting in a crime rate of 37.4 per million people, with approximately 1.5 million passengers.
