New restaurant bids for 8 AM opening and later closing times. Council reviews plans after neighbor concerns.

They want to open earlier and close later. Their plan asks to open at 8 AM and close at 11:30 PM on weekdays. Friday through Sunday, they wish to close at midnight. Currently, the location opens at noon and closes at 11 PM.
They wanted a glass dining area outside. The council said no to that idea though. It would take up several parking spots, and this worried council officers. They thought people would park illegally nearby.
Losing privacy for neighbors also played a role. The council considered it too much of a disadvantage. They also did not like the idea of live music late at night.
The council met in July to discuss the restaurant’s plans, and ultimately granted permission to play music and serve alcohol on Tuesday, July 23. However, neighbors complained about noise and worried about alcohol sales causing problems.
The council is now reviewing the newest plans. They haven’t made a decision yet.
