Four men were sentenced this Wednesday for the roles they played in the death of Lavaun Witter in Croydon back in 2021.

Lavaun and the teen were fleeing the group of men. Someone found Lavaun collapsed on Wisbeach Road with bad injuries, and police arrived at 8:08 p.m. Sadly, he died right there from a leg wound.
Police learned armed men broke into Lavaun’s flat. They wanted drugs and damaged a door. Lavaun collapsed while escaping with the teenage boy.
CCTV helped police find the suspects quickly. They identified Tyreece Riggon, plus Julian Russell. Also, Tyreece Wolfries-Parkin and Alex Pasley were suspects.
On February 18, police found Riggon and arrested him, age 24, along with Russell, 26. Lavaun’s Louis Vuitton bag was at Russell’s place.
Wolfries-Parkin and Pasley were caught later. The police charged all four with Lavaun’s murder. They also faced charges for harming the teen.
Russell and Wolfries-Parkins were guilty of murder in 2023. Pasley was guilty of manslaughter instead. Riggon was guilty of attempted GBH last December, and Pasley also was guilty of attempted GBH on the teen.
This Wednesday, they learned their sentences from the court. Russell will serve at least 24 years in prison, while Wolfries-Parkins got at least 20 years. Pasley’s sentence is 17 years, and Riggon received six years.
A police officer said the men used extreme violence, wanting drugs they thought were in the flat. Lavaun was defenceless, the officer stated, who also noted Lavaun’s family showed bravery.
