Shops at the CPS Centre get thirty more days before eviction due to fire safety concerns and planned upgrades.

Shivat Haminim Capital Ltd owns the place since 2021. They say fire safety is their big concern now. A report said critical fire safety work must happen fast. They want to avoid life-threatening risks at the center.
The owners said the center will close March 1, 2025. They need upgrades for tenant and visitor safety. Shops are upset and started a petition against the closure. The fire service thinks work does not need evictions.
Neil Johnson spoke with the landlord’s lawyers. He got a 30-day extension for all the shops. They can still store stock after the closure date. This gives them more time finding new spots.
Traders must email Sam at Landswood to get the extension. Johnson wished evictions could stop, but this helps. He proposed the council take over the first floor.
The council said intervening in private disputes is not their job. The Warrington North MP mentioned this issue in Parliament. Keir Starmer also heard about it.
