Plans to extend Henllys Reserve are underway, improving biodiversity with new habitats and accessible trails.

They started work at Coed Meyric Moel, improving biodiversity by planting hedges and creating corridors, allowing animals to move easily.
A group checked the trees and found ten types there, including alder, ash, beech, oak, sycamore, and willow. Hawthorn, hazel, holly, and birch also grew on the site.
Paths will connect to Henllys Reserve. Able helps with the nature trail, supporting people with disabilities in Cwmbran.
The council wants site inclusion in the local reserve and will ask Natural Resources Wales.
Blaenau Gwent supports the project, as does Torfaen’s partnership, which is twenty-five this year.
Veronika Brannovic, the co-ordinator, said the area has species, including moths and butterflies, and birds-foot and yellow rattle grow there.
Veronika hopes new species appear and the area helps folks connect, allowing them to volunteer, attend workshops, and spend time outdoors.
Another workshop happens soon on March 13, Thursday, running from 10 AM to 1 PM.
