Fiona Henderson’s dance school marked its 40th anniversary with a charity ball, raising funds for Borders Children’s Charity and Inspiring Life.

The school celebrated its 40th birthday and held a ball at Peebles Hydro. Students, parents, staff, and friends attended. Everyone gathered to support the dance school. The ball also raised money for charity. The school has supported these charities for years, wanting to give back on this special day.
Borders Children’s Charity helps local kids by fighting poverty and promoting inclusion. The charity has been active for about 50 years in the Borders.
Inspiring Life works with mental health, offering information and support to people. The group began in memory of Evie Douglas, who used to teach and dance at FHSD.
Freda Douglas, Evie’s mother, started Inspiring Life. The dance school has a long history with the charity and continues to support the cause.
The anniversary event raised £1,000. Local businesses and supporters donated generously. The money will be split between the two charities. The school thanked those making prize donations.
Brown Brothers and Speak Out Languages, Beauty By Shona and Karen Smith Nails, CA Designs and Caldwell’s Ice Cream, LaBelleAllure Skin and Beauty, The Sewing Table and Stobo Castle, all contributed prizes.
Head to Toe and Kailzie Gardens donated. Villeneuve Wines and The Gift Box, Wood Oven Wonders, Vanilla Moon Photography, Tiger Lily and Jim Jacks Fish and Chips, Kayak and Sup Hire, Café Arriete and Mark Cameron Dance, and International Dance Supplies also helped.
