The Darlington CAMRA Beer Festival ran out of beer, leading to the last day’s cancellation. Organizers apologize.

It started Friday, February 21, and was expected to last all weekend. There were beers, ciders, pale ales, and stouts available from 12 PM to 10 PM each day. Beer fans loved it a lot resulting in CAMRA running out of beer quickly.
They even sold their backup supply which meant everything was gone and organizers cancelled the Sunday event. They apologized to people planning to go because the team underestimated how many folks would show up.
They said they appreciate the support and will learn from this experience. They will make the festival bigger afterward, remembering that local pubs need your support too.
The festival will not open Sunday because all the beer is gone, including the extra. They know some people feel sad, and that the volunteers love the festival.
They are overwhelmed by the reception and the team promises to learn for next time. The festival should return in 2026.
The festival used to be at Darlington Arts Centre, which closed before the pandemic. This year marked a return.
Sunday had planned a charity quiz to start at 4:30 PM, hosted by Dave from Crafty’s Quiz. The quiz was canceled, too.
