A Darlington man was arrested after police found drugs and an illegal firearm in his residence.

Police went to Dillon’s place in Darlington. He’s 48. Dillon tried to run when authorities arrived, but they caught him at his home, the court heard.
During the search of his house, police found eleven cannabis plants growing in one room. More drugs were packaged and ready for wholesale.
The prosecutor said Dillon himself told them about the plants and weapons inside. Police found the cannabis in a bedroom. A drug expert valued the cannabis at £4,730.
They also found an air weapon and a paintball shotgun in his house, revealing that he has past drug convictions.
Dillon admitted his crimes and pleaded guilty on December 2, 2023, to charges involving drugs and a weapon.
His lawyer said Dillon uses cannabis since age eleven and now wants to deal with this addiction, suggesting it drove the crime.
The judge gave him a twelve-month suspended sentence, suspended for two years. Dillon must attend rehab for 30 days and drug rehab for a year.
The judge stated he might correct this if he made a mistake. They will have a hearing later to discuss the proceeds from his crimes.
