Bowe Hair & Scalp Clinic in Darlington, owned by Diane Bowe, is a finalist for best County Durham hairdresser due to special treatments.

Diane’s clinic is a “Hair and Scalp Sanctuary” where science meets serenity. She started hairdressing in 2010 and added scalp care in 2021, with the pandemic delaying her plans from 2020. Diane became a trained trichologist, meaning she knows about hair and scalp health.
Treatments include things for different problems, such as keratolytic and wet treatments. Microneedling is available, and laser treatment helps some people. UV light therapy treats psoriasis at her salon.
The salon welcomes everyone and helps people who feel unsure, including people who wear wigs or hide their hair for religious reasons. Diane’s clinic provides one-on-one care, aiming to relieve haircut stress, an aim inspired by postnatal anxiety.
Diane says customers feel like family and at home there, even messaging her just to chat. The clinic has standard hairdressing services, offering cuts, blow dries, colors, and highlights.
Diane ran the business alone until February 15, when she hired Amanda for a new Japanese Head Spa treatment. This treatment includes head massage, deep conditioning, scalp detoxification, and waterfall therapy for relaxation.
Diane is passionate about hair and cares about hair problem causes. The salon uses sustainable practices, registering with Green Salon Collective. Diane uses natural and organic products, and solar panels power the salon, where she uses only vegan products.
