Kelly wants to help SEND families by creating ‘Kane’s World’ in Darlington, seeing a need for accessible options. Her fundraising got strong community support, with local businesses and the council also helping her. Now, she will register ‘Kane’s World’ as a charity.
Kelly says this will really happen, emphasizing that charity status helps get money for it and makes building the project faster. She spreads awareness about her project and attends events to get support. On March 6th, she hosted a ladies’ night at The Vault in Darlington. People support her in unique ways, such as doing a sponsored non-verbal event, to show solidarity with kids like Kane.
Kelly formed a board of trustees to help ensure ‘Kane’s World’ lasts. The response has been unbelievable, she said, motivating her and giving others hope. She believes something is being done to start change, noting positive changes in Kane recently.
