John planned to help PAPYRUS UK. He would raise money at a parkrun set for January 11 in Darlington South Park. Bad weather caused its cancellation then.

Now, John plans a new date of March 1. He still wants to support the charity. PAPYRUS helps prevent young suicides.

John had a sad family experience. He contacted “Three Dads Walking,” Andy, Mike, and Tim, who lost daughters. They raised over £1 million for PAPYRUS through epic walks around the UK.

John will have a bucket collection at the Darlington parkrun on March 1 at 9 AM. He will also raise funds via JustGiving, and the three dads are helping him.

John has run 300 parkruns and is also a volunteer. He felt sad about the first cancellation and really wants to support the charity now.

Young suicide numbers are terrible. Raising funds and awareness is key, as people need to know help exists. John wants everyone’s support for all touched by suicide.

The Darlington parkrun is every Saturday starting at 9 AM in South Park. Runners and walkers join in and try to finish the 5k course.

Rachel Bowes, Darlington parkrun director, is happy for John’s participation. He runs on March 1 for his charity. She thinks the community will support him as he runs the 5k course.
