Dartford Crossing: Tunnel Closures Scheduled During Half Term Week

Hey, heads up about the Dartford Crossing! From today, February 17th, until the 22nd, there will be closures for tunnel work on the northbound side. These closures impact both east and west tunnels.

The closures happen at night, beginning at 9 PM and ending by 6 AM, including the last night. During these times, you can use diversions via National Highways roads, so plan ahead to avoid getting stuck.

The Dartford Crossing is an important link, connecting Dartford in Kent to Thurrock in Essex via the A282 over the Thames. Remember that this information could change, as bad weather might affect the schedule.

So, tonight, February 17th into the 18th, the A282 northbound west tunnel will close, and Junction 1A to the west tunnel shuts. Both close from 9 PM to 5:30 AM; use the National Highways diversions during that time. On the 18th into the 19th, it’s the same deal: the A282 northbound west tunnel and Junction 1A to the west tunnel are shut from 9 PM to 5:30 AM again; follow the diversions using the National Highways.

Then, on the 19th into the 20th, the A282 northbound west tunnel closes along with Junction 1A to the west tunnel from 9 PM to 5:30 AM; use the National Highways diversions. For the 20th into the 21st, the pattern continues with the A282 northbound west tunnel and Junction 1A to the west tunnel closing again from 9 PM to 5:30 AM; follow those National Highways diversions.

Finally, on the 21st into the 22nd, the A282 northbound west tunnel closes, and Junction 1A to the west tunnel is shut, too. The closures run from 9 PM to 6 AM that night, and the National Highways diversions will get you around it.
