Celebrate the Dee Estuary project at Hoole Community Centre in Chester on March 8! Free entry, fun for all!
Emily Lake works at Cheshire Wildlife Trust. She wants people to go and hopes you’ll get involved. The event celebrates Our Dee Estuary; it’s a community project.
They worked three years on this, and the Dee Estuary got better because of it. The National Lottery Heritage Fund funded the project. Eleven groups worked together; they are the Tidal Dee Catchment Partnership. The project team wants to celebrate the work of all staff and volunteers. The party is on March 8.
The celebration will be at Hoole Community Centre. It’s in Chester, the project’s center. It’s a drop-in thing all day long. They will have activities and exhibits. Enjoy free drinks and snacks, too.
Kids get entertainment all day. Performers and face painters will be there. Try Welsh language classes. Partner organizations will have stalls. You can watch films from the project, and they also show other digital stuff.
The team wishes for a big crowd. They really want locals to come. This is from the Dee Estuary communities. The Tidal Dee Catchment Partnership began in 2013, and they responded to a government request.
The government wanted local groups to work together. They needed to find key actions. These actions would protect the water. People should better understand the environment and work together at the local level.
