These homes aim to combat fuel poverty and boost health and well-being. Each house features timber frames, high insulation levels, air source pumps for heat, and solar panels for electricity.
Krzysztof Oko, one of the new residents, described the move as life-changing for himself and his mother. He is amazed to start a new life there, noting the significant impact of energy efficiency.
Gemma Powell also moved in and feels overjoyed about her new place. She says that efficiency helps both the planet and her wallet, and she’s thrilled with the move.
Penelope Storr from ClwydAlyn welcomes the new residents, emphasizing the benefits of sustainable homes. She stated that residents benefit from sustainable homes, lowering energy costs and making a daily difference.
Eoin O’Donnell of Castle Green highlights the use of timber frames from sustainable sources. He notes that the process is fast, reliable, and emits less CO2 compared to masonry, enabling them to quickly build affordable homes. They plan to finish all 100 homes within fifteen months.
