Delivery drivers are parking illegally in Cathedral Square, blocking paths and endangering pedestrians.

The visitor saw cars blocking paths and cars parked on tactile paving for blind people. They even blocked crossings, putting pedestrians in danger. Parents and those with trouble moving are at risk, and it makes the area unwelcoming. The visitor questioned why this was happening so openly.
Adam Scott is a city councillor who said they will work to stop illegal parking. Cars don’t belong in Cathedral Square, and anyone parking there will have to move. He thinks delivery drivers might be the cause.
The square has restaurants with delivery options. Nearby parking is scarce and costly, so drivers then park in the square. Cllr Scott said they patrol often, despite the fact that drivers are self-employed, making rules tough. They will still try to enforce parking restrictions.
The city council wants people to report illegal parking by submitting the date and time online. They will increase patrols in the area and penalize cars parked illegally, because unauthorized parking is never allowed.
