Delyth Jewell backs Trethomas residents fighting to save their village green from council bungalow development plans.

Delyth recently joined Trethomas residents who are fighting to save a village green space from being developed into bungalows by the council. The land is in the village’s north part.
Locals say the area often floods and want the council to give it green status. Their plans for the space sound great, actually. The council planted grass and bulbs there before with help from allotment folks and schools.
The local football club pitched in, too. They’ve planted 100,000 crocuses there since 2016, which makes it look amazing when they bloom! They want a community orchard there.
This may seem small, but the campaigners’ hard work matters. They want to keep the space nice and protect it for the future.
Billy Hughes and others lead the effort, with Bryan Masters, Gary Aldworth, and Barbara Parnell helping. Their dedication deserves praise. Trethomas is very developed, they told me, and green status is vital for this space.
Delyth supports their idea and wrote to the council about it. She asked them to consider it as an option.
If you live there, talk to the campaigners. They live nearby and are very active, getting petitions signed in support. Projects like this should be successful.
