The Deputy Mayor focused on two big projects. First, they discussed expanding the London Cancer Hub. This project will transform a five-hectare site. It will become a world-class center for cancer research. It is next to the Royal Marsden Hospital. The Institute for Cancer Research is near, too.

Sutton Council, Aviva, and Socius are working together. They plan one million square feet of space. This space supports research and treatment. It also provides amenities for people.

Citron said Sutton is key to London’s growth. The borough can lead future innovation. They want to unlock investment for businesses.

They also discussed Sutton town center’s renewal. Generate Kajima Regeneration Ltd will improve sites. They will refurbish Oru Sutton and St Nicholas Centre. A new Civic Hub is planned. It will have better retail and public spaces.
