A second proposal submitted despite ongoing appeal for rejected 40MW battery plant on protected greenbelt land.

The Planning Applications Committee rejected it on Halloween. The person who wanted the plant then appealed, asking the Scottish Government Reporter to review the decision just before Christmas.
The reporter should decide by March 13. Even with the appeal pending, the developer tried again, sending a second, similar proposal to the council.
Jackson Carlaw, Eastwood’s MSP, opposed the first plan. He said the land is a protected greenbelt not meant for a battery plant. About 250 people objected initially, showing strong local opposition.
Carlaw wonders why they resubmitted the plan when the reporter will rule on the first one soon. He thinks the developer is pushing hard to force the battery storage plan through.
He urges the community to resist strongly and protect their greenspace. He wants everyone in Eaglesham and Waterfoot to object and get family and neighbors involved too.
