A company wants to tear down their office. They plan to build three houses there instead.

Fullers Plastering owns the office. Anthony and Stephen Fuller run the company. The office is near College Place in Kemp Town. This is their third try to build houses.

They tried in June 2023, but failed. They appealed, but lost again. Another attempt in November 2022 was also stopped. Previous plans included a new office building. The city and an inspector both disagreed.

They thought the houses were too close to other homes. These homes are located in Clarendon Place.

Hapa Architects wrote a statement about the design. It says a lower height helps the design fit in. They dug into the ground and lowered ceilings. This reduced the height by nine meters.

The design considers the area. It also considers the setting, hidden from view. The design is subordinate to its urban location. It looks like new coach houses.

They want family homes in the city. The location is good for this. The homes will replace old sheds and garages. The scale fits the site and area constraints. The project has no privacy concerns.
