Didcot Great Western Park Medical Centre Plans Submitted for Review

New plans exist for the Woodlands Medical Centre. It will be in Great Western Park near Didcot, and Taylor Wimpey now handles the project. They must provide it as part of planning rules.

Julie Dandridge spoke about submitting the plan. She said the council will now review it. Dandridge hopes the project moves fast, benefiting local residents soon.

Olly Glover called it a big step forward and thanked everyone who helped. He will push for quick construction and operation because people really need it.

The council received initial plans back in 2018, but the medical center never materialized at that time.

Ian Snowdon wants progress to speed up. He will keep pushing hard because Didcot needs this facility badly, and people have waited far too long.

Didcot urgently requires better healthcare. Current surgeries often refuse new patients, and residents constantly complain about this issue.

Assura will be the property’s landlord this time, while Woodlands Healthcare is the chosen healthcare provider. They already have a Didcot surgery, and the land and funding were always part of developer agreements. Snowdon thinks the plan could still improve and that the council can still work on the land transfer.
