Gordan Ames started Disability East Lancs. He used to lead a similar group in Wales. Gordan is seventy-eight years old. He wants to address local disability worries. He thinks this group can help people.

No similar group currently exists there. People often struggle with parking issues. Some park on pavements, blocking access, while others misuse disabled parking spaces illegally.

Street structure problems get mentioned a lot. Disability benefits also cause concern. Switching to PIPs is quite complex, and people often don’t understand this new system and how to navigate it.

Gordan lives in Haslingden now. He chaired a group in Powys for decades. The group wants to help disabled people who face different problems daily. The group aims to make a positive change.

The first meeting is March 3 at The Link, in Haslingden. Call 01706 551106 for details, and you can also raise your issues then.
