Leigh Cooksea runs the Post Office. He’s lived there since 2006 and thinks the people are really important. The village has grown with new buildings, but people blend in easily. It has a strong community feeling, and people know their neighbors well.
The Parish Council says Hallow has a church and that many footpaths offer great views of the area. You can see the Malvern Hills, and Woodbury Hill is visible too.
People often use Hallow Playing Field and enjoy the Village Green. The Parish Council owns and cares for both. Hallow has a long history. Records go back to 816 A.D. It was Coenwulf of Mercia’s time.
The village could be Lord Nuffield’s birthplace, who founded the Austin Morris car company. Diplomat Stewart Perowne might also be from there. William Careless once lived there and helped Charles II hide in an oak tree in the 17th century.
