Dean English was linked to multiple burglaries via DNA found in a sock left at a crime scene. He’s now jailed.

He wore socks as gloves last November. CCTV footage showed him in the act. He left a crowbar and a sock behind.
English also stole from Sainsbury’s at Halloween. He took chocolate, steak, and chicken. He wore the same clothes at Sainsbury’s.
Police linked him to another burglary at the Horden Centennial Centre in January. Two police teams worked together on this case.
They arrested English on February 9. He faced charges of burglary and theft. He also failed a drug test assessment while in custody.
He admitted guilt in court on February 10. The court ordered him to prison for 12 months. He must also pay £750 compensation.
A police officer spoke about the case, stating burglary impacts businesses heavily. Police will not tolerate such actions.
