Honey, a ten-month-old dog, was killed by a train after running off during an off-leash walk in Minety.

On the second day of their trip, they received awful news: Honey had been killed by a train after running over one kilometer from her walk location.
She had been let off-leash.
Honey had been missing for one hour before she was found. Ellie said the loss hit them hard, as Honey was a playful and happy dog, only ten months old. Meg also misses her friend.
The owners had given permission for off-leash walks, but now feel more care should have been taken. They thought the boarders would use better judgment, especially since train tracks were nearby. A mile isn’t far for an active dog.
Ellie feels We Are Happy Dogs failed in their duty of care and never offered an apology. The boarders were responsible for Honey’s safety.
We Are Happy Dogs said they felt saddened, and Honey’s death caused immense sadness for them as they are still grieving her loss. They stated they are not indifferent to the tragedy and will cooperate fully with all parties.
They confirmed written authorization for off-leash walks was given, adding that there was no agreement to stay in a field.
After Honey ran away, they contacted the owners and launched a big search to find her. The firm said Honey ran toward train tracks, covering over one kilometer.
We Are Happy Dogs shared evidence with Wiltshire Council. Only Meg returned when called back, and Honey ran at least 1.3km. The council called it a tragic accident and confirmed their paperwork was in order.
