Plans for Barks N Bubbles in Andover are recommended for approval despite concerns from the neighboring cat cafe.

The cat cafe next door, called Andover Catfe, isn’t happy. They worry dogs will upset the cats and said noisy dogs could scare them. The cat cafe owners aren’t against dogs, they just worry about their business.
They fear the grooming salon will hurt their cafe, which brings people to Andover. Only three people objected to the grooming salon. Over forty people support the plan and wrote to the council, which is Test Valley Borough Council.
Supporters say it boosts the town. More customers can increase business and foot traffic. The salon also diversifies the town center, adding more interest too.
Amber Cooper, who owns Barks ‘N’ Bubbles, understands the cat cafe’s worries. She will try to reduce noise and wants to limit its impact.
She knows her customers well. They are responsible dog owners and will clean up after their pets. They will pick up any messes outside.
The council committee, called the Northern Area Planning Committee, meets on February 20. Officers recommend approving the plans. Approving the plans helps the town and keeps the town center alive. It adapts to shopping changes. The town needs to adjust to new trends.
