Keith Hall and Suzanne Smith faced charges, admitting to harming a protected animal at Worcester Magistrates Court on February 7. They lived at Pinvin Caravan Park. Hall is 46, and Smith is 37.

On June 26, 2024, police officers, including a dog handler, visited the caravan site. They found four dogs in kennels. One dog, Dora, appeared to be in bad shape.

PC Martin Kennedy spoke about the case, highlighting the investigation and police work. The dog’s living conditions were concerning, and her coat’s condition alerted authorities, prompting immediate action.

PC Kennedy started an investigation and seized the cockapoo-type dog. The court issued a three-year ban, prohibiting Hall and Smith from owning animals. Authorities will take their current pets.

Hall and Smith forfeited Dora’s rights. Each must pay a £120 fine, £85 in costs, and a £48 surcharge.

PC Kennedy shared the good news that Dora found a new home and is enjoying her new life with new owners. He stated it’s very rewarding to see Dora rehomed, now receiving proper care and improved quality of life.

He reiterated that police protect those who can’t speak, as in this instance, a two-year-old dog.
