Dog owners are asked to be considerate in North East Wales during school break, especially around livestock.

Denbighshire County Council and the Clwydian Range team want to remind you to please keep your dogs on leads. Many pregnant sheep are grazing, and lambing season is also coming soon.
It is illegal to let dogs chase sheep, which is called livestock worrying. Dogs can get destroyed for this, and owners can face prosecution.
Before you visit, check local rules to help keep everyone safe, including your pets. Remember to park in marked areas and see if facilities are open beforehand.
Councillor Alan James thanks careful owners, but reminds those who do not follow the rules that they are responsible and must control their dogs in the countryside during the break. Owners ignoring rules could be prosecuted.
Dogs worrying livestock risk being shot, a very horrible outcome that we want to prevent. Plan your countryside walk carefully, know the area, and always follow the countryside code by keeping your dog on a lead.
