This animal rescue place was in trouble. The founder, Kymm White, needed money fast. South East Dog Rescue faced potential closure. She runs it in Greenhithe since 2009.

Kymm had a funny idea for Valentine’s Day. People could pay to name poo bags. Each bag cost £5. The bags got named after exes. She posted pictures of the bags online.

She wasn’t sure if people would like it. But, the poo bag idea went super viral. Over 200 people joined the fun. They all named their former flames. “Mark” and “Terry” were the most popular names. A restaurant even named their leaving chef.

Kymm said she was shocked by the success. She loved seeing everyone get involved. People tagged their friends online. They helped raise money for the dogs. The campaign raised over a thousand pounds.

It collected £1,142. Dogs donated lots of poo for the project. Kymm made a Facebook album. It had all the names and poo pictures. The rescue needs a new home by July. Kymm created the campaign to gain attention.

She hopes to find new donors. They need a place to go urgently. The rescue is committed to their dogs. Currently, they house many dogs. They have around twenty to twenty-five dogs. The rental property got sold for warehouses.

The social media posts helped a lot. They gave the charity good publicity. Kymm hopes someone will see it. Maybe someone has suitable land.

The Valentine’s campaign was so successful. Kymm plans to do it again next year. She will prepare better for the popularity.
