They want to change farm land use. The plan includes a dog walking trail. The application went to Flintshire Council in January.

The plan seeks full permission to change the land. It’s near Holwell, at Mynydd Mostyn. The new trail will be for public dog walks and will be about 2.5km long. The farm already runs a milk machine, and they also have a farm shop on site. Planners approved it back in September 2022.

Mynydd Mostyn Dairy submitted the new plan. They want to build on their current success. The aim is to offer locals and visitors a new space to enjoy.

The trail will be a loop that starts and ends at the existing car park. This serves the current vending machine. The application notes dairy industry issues. Markets change, causing financial challenges which makes it hard to secure a steady profit.

They want a new element to their business that builds on the vending machine and shop. A safe dog walking trail is the aim, which locals and visitors can enjoy within the Flintshire countryside.

You can comment on the application online. The consultation closes on March 7, and a decision should follow shortly after.

Einion and Elliw Jones established Mynydd Mostyn Dairy. Their family has been farming the land for generations. The milk comes from their cows, with a herd of about 280 Jersey-cross milking cows.
