So, this head doorman went nuts. He reportedly attacked a pub owner and bit the owner’s staff at The Old Waggon and Horses bar in Newbury.

David Wogan, who was head of security and possessed a security license, faced court on February 12 at Reading Magistrates’ Court. He denies hitting Jake Taylor and threatening Sheldon Lyons during the alleged events last February, claiming others assaulted him.

The prosecutor stated that an argument began between David and Sheldon, turning physical outside. CCTV footage showed a brawl breaking out, with people trying to stop it. Jake Taylor, the pub’s owner at the time, saw the fight and went outside to help. He testified that David punched Sheldon and threatened him with violence.

Jake testified that as he tried to pull them apart, David grabbed Sheldon and bit him on the floor. Georgia Hampton, a pub employee and Sheldon’s girlfriend, confirmed Sheldon still has scars from the biting incident.

Jake said he calmed things down, after which David tried to get his car keys. Jake, believing David was too drunk to drive, refused him entry. David allegedly forced his way in and attacked Jake, choking him and causing damage, while a front door window shattered.

David’s lawyer questioned Jake, asking if everyone drank that night, with Jake admitting they drank on their night night off. He also denied David wanted house keys.

Georgia testified that Sheldon asked David to calm down, but David swore at him. She described the scene as pure chaos and unlike anything she had ever seen.

David’s lawyer also questioned Georgia, who admitted she might have hit David. The lawyer suggested Sheldon grabbed David first, grabbing his arm and then his beard. The lawyer claimed Georgia hit David repeatedly and that others assaulted him after this.

David hasn’t testified yet, since the court ran out of time. The trial is stopped for now. It will resume next month, when the defense team will present their case. David is out on bail with conditions until then.
