They are building the Dover Beacon project on Bench Street. This project costs millions of pounds. Dover District Council is building it. They think it will help the economy a lot. It could bring over £90 million.

The building will have a campus for learning creative skills. It will also have a center for new businesses. Plus, there will be a center for artists. A small park by the river will be made too.

To build this, some buildings were removed. The Funky Monkey nightclub was one that got torn down. The building with Dover’s Banksy mural also went.

They started building in November last year. The frame and floors should be done this summer. A photo shows the site from above. Jenner Group took it. The council said the crane is working now.

The frame and floors are next. By summer 2025, the frame should be finished. The crane will be there until February 2026. The construction project got approved last July. Archeologists did some work in September.

It should be done in spring 2026. Then businesses can move in. The Beacon project has funding from the government. They got £18.1 million from the Levelling Up Fund. Also, £3.2 million came from another fund.
