Calvin Parris, a major drug dealer, is sentenced to 12 years after being apprehended in Portugal and extradited to the UK.

Parris sent a photo of cocaine in bags that had badges. He supplied drugs to users, selling them in Cardiff and surrounding areas. The gang disguised drug deliveries, and they wore uniforms during the Covid-19 lockdown. This helped them move around easily.
Parris used EncroChat to talk with other members to avoid getting caught by the police. He used the names ‘HopefulCrown’ and ‘MadDagger.’ Police went to his house in December 2020 to arrest him, but he was not there anymore. The judge considered his use of EncroChat a bad thing.
Parris became one of the NCA’s most wanted in 2020, and the NCA worked diligently to find him. Almost four years later, police arrested him in the Algarve, Portugal. Portuguese police arrested Parris and held him for two weeks before deporting him back to the UK.
In the UK, he admitted to supplying cocaine during his first court appearance there. The court learned Parris was already on probation, having been jailed for drug dealing before. Judge Jenkins sentenced him to 12 years in jail.
He must serve half the sentence in prison and then spend the rest on probation. Other members of the same gang received substantial sentences as well. Amir Khan got 20 years, 7 months; Michael Laverick got 18 years; Danny Attard got 14 years; Damian Farrugia got 13 years; Lenci Gashi got 11 years, 4 months; and Asim Naveed got 10 years, 8 months.
