Robert Carr, 39, no fixed address, sentenced to eight weeks for assaulting two Durham police officers.

The court case happened February thirteenth, 2025, in Newton Aycliffe. Carr was in a fight February eleventh, 2025, and hurt Constables Crosby and Chenery-Robson, who were working at the time.
Carr used bad language and meant to upset PC Crosby. He admitted to hurting an emergency worker. The court felt the crimes were very serious and sent him to jail for eight weeks right away.
The jail time got longer due to the victims being emergency workers during the crime, increasing it by two weeks. Carr must also pay each officer fifty pounds.
Carr got another eight weeks for hurting PC Crosby again, but the court suspended this sentence for nine months, considering Carr had a good reason for his actions.
The court thought about other charges for common assault, but the lawyers dropped those charges. Police officers must feel safe doing their jobs, and attacks on officers cause jail time.
