The owner of The Western Bar in Dursley was fined £600 for allowing smoking indoors.

Colin Cosimini owned The Western Bar. It is on Parsonage Street in Dursley. He let people smoke there twice in September 2024.
Cosimini said they were herbal cigarettes. He thought they had no nicotine. The court said it still broke the law. Cosimini agreed with this point.
The court fined him £100 for the first time. He was fined £150 for the second time. He must pay £100 to victims. He also owes £250 for court costs.
The court told Cosimini to stop all smoking inside. Next time could bring a harsher penalty.
Sarah Clark works in environmental health. She said herbal cigarettes cause harm. This statement followed the court hearing.
Clark said they have tar and carbon monoxide. These cause the same problems as regular smoking. Herbal cigarettes aren’t a safe choice.
