Kippen faced five minor earthquakes within days. The British Geological Survey monitors the unusual seismic activity.

Three days later, Kippen was hit by another tremor around 9:57 PM on Friday, February 21. The magnitude was a bit smaller, at 1.2. The BGS team recorded the same depth: 3 kilometers.
More quakes came quickly, with Saturday, February 22, seeing two more tremors. The first was at 12:24 AM, with a 0.9 magnitude and a depth of 3km. Another quake hit at 2:46 AM, measuring 1.6 in magnitude, with a deeper depth of about 7 kilometers.
Sunday, February 23, had two more recorded tremors around 4:43 PM. They impacted different spots in Kippen, with one measuring 0.1 and the other measuring 0.7. Both were 5 kilometers deep.
Thankfully, buildings were not damaged, and locals only felt some of the tremors.
The BGS tracks earthquakes around Britain and also lists quakes caused by people. Often tremors occur in groups, forming a series of quakes in one spot, which is called an earthquake swarm.
