Positif Care seeks permission to continue running a children’s home in Ebbw Vale, housing three children and six carers.

They’ve been running the care home since last June. There was some confusion about needing permission. The planners will still review it properly, acting as if it hasn’t happened yet.
Justin Samuel, who works for Positif Care, explained the proposal. He says carers need to live there to support the children all day. The property is in a quiet area.
The building was empty and vandalized. Using it will improve safety and provide a tenant. The change brings activity and care to the area.
Lucy Evans, a Positif director, says six staff work there. A house manager will be present on weekdays during normal business hours.
All the care staff live nearby and are invested in the children’s home. Positif runs other homes in Blaenau Gwent and has a good record with kids. The Care Inspectorate Wales inspects the home, and a decision is expected around March 12.
