The White Horse in Edgworth reopens with a new couple managing it after a full makeover and previous closure.

Amanda Blinkhorn now runs the pub. Liam Evans, her partner, joined her in this venture. Amanda is from Astley Bridge, Bolton.
The pub got a full makeover while closed. Everything is shiny and ready. People are very happy that it’s open again, with locals showing a very positive reaction so far. One woman was nearly crying, she was so happy. The atmosphere is great, with real community spirit.
Amanda is experienced in pub management. She managed The Cotton Kier and Duke of Wellington before. She first poured beer at age nine in her grandad’s pub, and always wanted to run her own pub.
They started with six staff members initially, and now they are up to ten because it’s much busier. They offer varied foods, including small plates, as well as traditional options and deals. They have something for everybody.
They offer two cocktails for £9 every day. The White Horse is very dog-friendly, welcoming families and older couples. Friends and young people are definitely welcome.
The pub closed abruptly last year. A notice of abandonment was posted on the door. Red Star Pub Company owns the building. They believed the tenant abandoned the pub on November 26.
Before this closure, it was vacant for three years, having closed previously back in 2019. Star Pubs operates over 2,400 pubs in the UK. The group is actually part of Heineken UK.
