Eight men are in custody after a mass brawl occurred on Blackwood High Street. Police closed the road and are investigating.
The clip showed many men fighting. This happened on the high street around 3 PM. A local, Zoe Powell, said it was about an hour ago and mentioned five cars parked nearby.
The road was closed after the incident. Zoe saw seven police cars and one ambulance.
Police got a call about Blackwood’s High Street around 2:45 PM. They also responded to another call for High Street, Newbridge. It came in around 2:55 PM. Police said they got reports of disorder.
Both calls came on Thursday, February 13. Police closed both roads to investigate. Paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service were also there to help.
Superintendent Mike Preston spoke about it and said they addressed the problems in both towns. He also said the public isn’t in danger now. They arrested eight men so far.
These men are in police custody right now. Police will question them soon to understand the injuries. Police need your help if you have info or know anyone involved, contact them.
They think this behavior is unacceptable. They will take action against those causing harm.
