Fights happened around 2:45 p.m. on Thursday in Blackwood and Newbridge. Police arrested eight men, suspecting violent disorder.

The two fights occurred close in time, within ten minutes of each other. One fight happened on Blackwood High Street, while the other was on Newbridge High Street.

Gwent Police reported that four men went to a hospital for treatment of their injuries. Three men have already left the hospital, as police do not believe the injuries are too bad.

Detective Inspector Newbury stated that the eight men are currently in custody. The police believe the fights are connected but don’t think they are related to past issues.
