Remembering Eileen Bullimore, the former Stamford Mercury and Rutland Times reporter, who passed away at the age of 94.

Eileen started writing in the 1950s for the Stamford Mercury. Then, she became a mom and took time off to raise her two kids. Later, the family moved to Stevenage for a bit.
In 1988, they came back and Eileen went back to reporting again, this time for the Rutland Times. After she retired, Eileen stayed busy.
She loved doing crafts, liked walking near Rutland Water, and found jigsaw puzzles fun. Her daughter, Carole, said she loved her job and wanted to talk to people. Eileen had so many contacts in her address book.
Eileen was born in 1930, in Hambleton, and lived on a farm with her family. Later, they moved to North Luffenham. Their farmland was flooded when they made Rutland Water.
She married Ron Bullimore in 1951 and they lived in Stamford and had a son, John, in 1961. They moved to Stevenage and then had a daughter, Carole, in 1964.
While the kids were growing up, Eileen had several jobs. She worked as a cleaner, an Avon lady, and at Littlewoods.
Ron died in 2017.
Eileen lived alone in their Stamford house until she got sick last year. She passed away on January 7, at 94 years old. She leaves behind her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
Carole said her mom was fun and loving and always looked nice. Eileen cared so much about how she looked every day. She was very generous and funny, though she could be a bit sharp sometimes. She was kind and had a great sense of humor and laughed easily.
