Elgin woman’s running challenge aids Sands, supporting families after a stillbirth at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Over £1500 raised.

Elizabeth chose to support Sands, a charity that aids grieving families. Elizabeth, not usually a runner, decided to run every day in February, running a mile each day of the month.
She initially hoped to raise £150 for Sands. Now, with two weeks left, she has raised over £1500 so far. Elizabeth was surprised by Sands’ level of support and wanted to contribute to the charity.
The money she raised can fund memory boxes that help grieving families remember their babies. These boxes contain keepsakes and meaningful items given freely. Elizabeth is amazed by the support.
Lisa is still grieving for her granddaughter, but is grateful for Elizabeth’s efforts. Elizabeth’s challenge means a lot to Lisa, as it supports a special charity that helped Lisa’s daughter and husband.
Elizabeth’s actions show these babies are remembered, and her fundraising may support seventy families. Lisa has not needed Sands directly but feels better knowing they are there if needed. The support families receive is ongoing.
