North Yorkshire residents can access cheaper energy deals by joining a group buying scheme, potentially saving money on bills.

Councillor Simon Myers thinks it’s a great chance for people to explore better energy options and potentially save money on bills. Registration occurs at no cost, and people don’t have to accept the offer; it’s a simple, stress-free process.
Suppliers compete to offer the lowest tariff, and registered residents get a personal offer, eliminating the need to compare different tariffs. Since 2012, 2.1 million people registered interest in switching energy.
George Frost said costs burden households now, and this scheme helps people decide about switching. People in North Yorkshire join as a group, and the scheme offers tariffs for the group that individuals might not get alone.
Households can register online before April 28, and more information is available at the council website.
